<br /> <br /> <br />Councilmember Dunsworth stated she did not want to make assumptions regarding the sale of rental property. <br />She commented the sale of a property may create positive things and not only negative things. She explained <br />she would not support an Ordinance that hampered positive improvements that could be made to a property in <br />New Brighton. <br /> <br />Mayor Johnson commented from a legal standpoint she did not want to prohibit property owners from being <br />able to improve their property. She questioned if the City even had this right legally. <br /> <br />Mayor Johnson excused herself from the meeting at 6:12 p.m. <br /> <br />Councilmember Allen indicated he would like the City to consider how displaced residents would be cared for. <br /> <br />Councilmember Dunsworth stated she believed there was more to the Ordinance than just residents being <br />displaced. She explained she would be really hesitant to support an Ordinance that regulated a private <br />business. <br /> <br />Councilmember Burg asked if the Council should consider passing a Resolution encouraging the State to <br />address affordable housing. <br /> <br />Councilmember Jacobsen indicated he would like to see more data from staff and for this conversation to <br />continue at a future meeting. <br /> <br />Councilmember Allen commented he would like to see data for 30% AMI along with the 60% AMI data. <br /> <br />Councilmember Dunsworth supported the data point remaining at 60% AMI as this was the data point for <br />Midtown Village. <br /> <br /> <br />Worksession adjourned at 6:21 pm <br /> <br /> <br />Respectfully submitted, <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />Terri Spangrud <br />City Clerk <br />
