From edge to edge, the private entryway is only 26 feet wide, and parking even on one side
limits the access width to less than the minimum 18 feet required for emergency vehicles.
2. The private entryway is in significantly poor condition such that damage to public and
private vehicles can occur if potholes cannot be avoided.
3. Parking in recent years has occurred on both sides of the entryway which has prohibited
emergency vehicles access.
4. Entryways into a densely populated rental complex must all be kept free of obstructions in
the interest of public safety.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that establishment of the fire lane is subject to the following
conditions:
1. In accordance with 9-41(2)(C), it is the responsibility of the owner of record to edge paint,
sign, and maintain the fire lane. Failure of the owner of record to act will result in the City
causing the work to be completed with all costs billed to the owner of record.
