Proclamation Appointing Councilmember Mary Burg a City Ambassador. <br /> <br />Motion by Councilmember Jacobsen, seconded by Councilmember Dunsworth to approve a <br />Proclamation Appointing Councilmember Mary Burg a City Ambassador. <br /> <br />Mayor Johnson read a proclamation in full for the record appointing Councilmember Mary Burg an <br />ambassador for the City of New Brighton. <br />Councilmember Jacobsen explained he has always worked to emulate Mary Burg given the fact she puts the <br />community first and believes that people matter. He stated it had been an honor to be able to serve with <br />Councilmember Burg and to be able to call her friend. He thanked her for working to diligently to move the <br />City forward and for always treating him respectfully. <br />Mayor Johnson stated Councilmember Burg was a true friend. She described how Councilmember Burg <br />worked for the people of New Brighton and had left a positive legacy on the community. She explained New <br />Brighton would never be the same without Councilmember Burg, but would always be better because of <br />Councilmember Burg. She stated it has been an honor to have served with Councilmember Burg and <br />thanked her for her dedicated service to New Brighton. <br />Councilmember Dunsworth reported it has been an honor to serve alongside Councilmember Burg and to <br />learn from her. She explained Councilmember Burg’s attitude, positive thinking and humor would be deeply <br />missed by everyone on the City Council. She wished her all the best in the future and thanked her for her <br />tremendous service to the community. <br />Councilmember Allen thanked Councilmember Burg for her decades of service to New Brighton. He <br />appreciated the fact that she had fought the necessary fights and accomplished much through her service on <br />the City Council. He discussed the legacy Councilmember Burg would leave on the community and thanked <br />her for being a tremendous example of what true service means for everyone in New Brighton. <br />Councilmember Burg thanked the Council for their kind words. <br /> <br />A roll call vote was taken. 5 Ayes, 0 Nays - Motion Carried <br /> <br />Consent Agenda <br />1.
