Councilmember Fynewever asked if Planning and EDC members would be serving on the steering committee. <br />Gozola stated he would appreciate having at least one member from the City Council, EDC and Planning <br />Commission on the steering committee. <br />Mayor Johnson requested further comment on the timing of this project. Gozola reviewed the project timeline <br />for the Zoning Code update. He anticipated it would take at least a year and a half to complete this project. <br />Councilmember Jacobsen questioned how temporary uses would be addressed in the new Zoning Code. <br />Gozola reported this language would be folded over into the new framework. <br />Mayor Johnson stated she appreciated the fact the City was working to update its Zoning Code, especially <br />given the fact some portions dated back to 1977. She thanked staff for taking the initiative to tackle this <br />project. She explained she fully supported this project moving forward. She questioned how this item would <br />proceed. Massopust indicated he would bring this item to the City Council where the formal process would be <br />approved. <br />Councilmember Jacobsen suggested this presentation be made at an upcoming City Council meeting under <br />New Business. <br />Councilmember Allen thanked staff for the thorough presentation. He recommended the City find ways to <br />gain feedback from the steering committee, local business owners and the general public. <br />Mayor Johnson thanked Gozola for his detailed presentation.
