Councilmember Allen commented it would benefit the residents in New Brighton that were struggling to make <br />them aware of the services that were available at a City and County level. <br />Councilmember Dunsworth stated in a normal year, a 2.5% increase would not be a concern to her. However, <br />given the circumstances, she wanted the City to be cognizant of the message that would be sent to residents if <br />levy increases were proposed when so many were struggling. <br />Mayor Johnson discussed how a Race and Equity Director could assist the City with bringing resources <br />forward for the public. <br />Massopust stated he was pleased with the first draft of the 2021 budget. He thanked the Council for their <br />input. <br />Mayor Johnson asked how staff believed the City was functioning at this time from a staffing level. <br />Massopust discussed how the City has been operating for the past six moths during COVID -19. He reported a <br />lot more responsibility has been falling on the Directors. <br />Councilmember Jacobsen thanked staff for presenting the Council with a thoughtful budget for 2021.
