Recognition of City Ambassador Pat Tuma on her Retirement. <br /> <br />Parks and Recreation Director Fink stated it is with sadness and great pleasure she wanted the City to <br />recognize Pat Tuma for her 35 plus years of service to the City of New Brighton in the Parks and Recreation <br />Department. She discussed the numerous ways Pat had served the City and noted the achievements <br />throughout her career. <br />PREC Chair Pam Axberg thanked Pat Tuma for the great passion she has for the City of New Brighton. She <br />explained Pat was a tremendous cheerleader, champion for children, supporter of the family, an advocate for <br />the City and creative problem solver. She thanked Pat for all of her contributions to the City and wished Ms. <br />Tuma a happy retirement. <br /> <br />Motion by Councilmember Jacobsen, seconded by Councilmember Allen to approve a <br />proclamation recognizing Pat Tuma on her Retirement. <br /> <br />A roll call vote was taken. <br /> <br />4 Ayes, 0 Nays - Motion Carried <br /> <br />Mayor Johnson read a proclamation in full for the record recognizing Pat Tuma for her 35½ years of service <br />to the City of New Brighton in the Parks and Recreation Department. She stated upon the retirement of Pat <br />Tuma from her position she would be recognized as a City Ambassador. On behalf of the City, Mayor <br />Johnson wished Pat Tuma a long and healthy retirement. <br />Councilmember Jacobsen commented on the fond memories he had of Pat Tuma from over the years and <br />thanked her for her dedicated service to the community. He appreciated how diligently Pat worked for the <br />Parks and Recreation Department to create a sense of community. He thanked Pat for working to make New <br />Brighton what it is today. <br />Councilmember Allen thanked Pat Tuma for her years of service to the City and stated New Brighton was a <br />stronger and more connected community because of her dedication to the Parks and Recreation Department. <br />He thanked Ms. Tuma for inspiring others and for elevating the quality of life in the community. He wished <br />Ms. Tuma all the best in her retirement. <br />Pat Tuma thanked the Council for their kind words. She thanked the Mayor for her encouragement and <br />enthusiasm. She stated she appreciated the Council’s support of the Parks and Recreation programs. She <br />thanked City Manager Massopust, Director Fink and Assistant Director Hicks for their strong leadership, <br />dedication and sense of humor. She thanked her co-workers for going the extra mile each and every day. She <br />thanked her husband and sons for stepping in and helping her over the years.
