November 10, 2020 Page 3 of 4 <br /> <br />Public Hearing <br /> <br />None. <br /> <br />Council Business <br /> <br />None. <br /> <br />Commission Liaison Reports, Announcements and Updates <br /> <br />Devin Massopust <br />City Manager Massopust reported the License Bureau would be closed Wednesday, November <br />11th through Friday, November 13th for training and updates from the State. He stated the <br />License Bureau would be open for business again on Monday, November 16th. He noted City <br />Hall would be closed on Wednesday, November 11th in observance of Veterans Day. He <br />thanked all staff and election judges for their efforts during the recent election. <br /> <br />Mayor Johnson <br />Mayor Johnson thanked all staff, poll workers and election judges for their efforts during the <br />recent election. She appreciated the honesty and integrity that was displayed during the recent <br />election. She congratulated Senator Tina Smith, Congresswoman Betty McCollum, Senator <br />Mary Kunesh, Representative Connie Bernardi, Representative Sandra Feist, and <br />Commissioner Mary Jo McGuire on their reelection or election. She welcomed Mayor Elect <br />Kari Niedfeldt-Thomas, Councilmember Elect Abdullahi Abdulle and Councilmember Elect <br />Pam Axberg to the New Brighton City Council. She thanked all of the New Brighton residents <br />who turned out to vote at the recent election. She thanked Councilmember Jacobsen and all <br />other veterans in New Brighton for their service to this country. <br /> <br />Mayor Johnson encouraged all residents in New Brighton to wear masks and properly social <br />distance when out and about in the community. <br /> <br />Graeme Allen <br />Councilmember Allen thanked all of the volunteers, City staff and Ramsey County for their <br />assistance with the recent election. He stated the Public Safety Commission met on Monday, <br />November 9th. <br /> <br />Emily Dunsworth <br />Councilmember Dunsworth thanked all of the election staff for putting on an impressive <br />election last week. She appreciated all of the volunteers that worked together to keep the <br />election calm and safe. She reported PREC did not meet in November. She thanked all <br />veterans for their service and sacrifice to this country. She reported the Parks Service recently <br />announced that all veterans can get a National Park pass for free. <br /> <br />Nasreen Fynewever <br />Councilmember Fynewever encouraged residents to stay safe. She reminded the community of <br />the lunches and meals that were available on Fridays at the Irondale High School. <br /> <br />Paul Jacobsen <br />Councilmember Jacobsen stated he was pleased by the voter turnout last Tuesday and <br />commented on the number of people that voted early. He congratulated the winners nationally, <br />statewide, county-wide and locally.
