. r NEW <br />,.qij BRIGHTON <br />building tomorrow today <br />AGENDA SECTION: Consent <br />REPORT DATE: January 19, 2021 <br />MEETING DATE: January 26, 2021 <br />REQUEST FOR CITY COUNCIL CONSIDERATION <br />ITEM DESCRIPTION: Consider Final Payment for the New Fueling Station <br />DEPARTMENT HEAD'S APPROVAL: Craig Schlichting — Director of Community Assets and <br />Development <br />CITY MANAGER APPROVAL: <br />No comments to supplement this report TP Comments attached <br />Recommendation: <br />Approve Final Payment including costs as constructed for the new Fueling Station to Zahl- <br />Petroleum Maintenance Company in the amount of $83,293.81. <br />Legislative History: <br />On February 11, 2020 the New Brighton City Council approved the installation of a new fueling <br />station at Public Works in the amount of $79,842 with Zahl-Petroleum Company. <br />Explanation: <br />During the construction of the new fueling station additional expenses were incurred due to <br />location and disposal of the old fuel tank. <br />• Increased the size of the concrete pad to accommodate a safer location <br />o $1,938.75 for additional concrete <br />o $350.00 for additional bollards <br />• Additional expenses to remove old fuel tank <br />o $195.00 for vac truck <br />o $35.00 for mileage trip charge <br />o $100.00 for fuel disposal <br />• Existing tank was fiberglass and bid included steel <br />o $409.81 to dispose of the tank <br />o $246.25 to haul the tank to the landfill <br />• Permit charges <br />o $177.00 <br />The additional charges total $3,451.81, bringing the total invoice amount to $83,293.81 <br />
