Assessment of Need 44CITY OF NEW BRIGHTON PARK AND TRAIL SYSTEM MASTER PLAN - DRAFT <br />ARCHITECTURAL NEEDS ASSESSMENT <br />The purpose of the architectural needs assessment was to review and analyze the existing <br />conditions of buildings used by the Parks and Recreation department. The review provides a <br />base architectural assessment of the existing spaces including entries, accessibility, building <br />codes, condition of the envelope, maintenance concerns and life safety. <br />Architects visited each building, reviewed relevant codes and met with Parks and Recreation <br />staff. Stakeholder interviews were conducted with community center staff, parks and recreation <br />programming staff, and the golf course clubhouse supervisor to gain an understanding of <br />existing issues and programming needs. <br />Architectural assessments were completed for six buildings including City Hall/Community <br />Center, Brightwood Hills Golf Course clubhouse and the four neighborhood center park <br />buildings at Hansen, Totem Pole, Sunny Square and Freedom parks. <br />The individual building assessments are included in the Appendix of this document.
