<br /> <br /> <br />REQUEST FOR COMMISISON CONSIDERATION <br /> <br />ITEM DESCRIPTION: Ordinance 867: An Ordinance Updating Code Language on Zoning Enforcement <br />and Other Enforcement Activities Relating to the City’s Most Common <br />Complaints and Issues <br />DEPARTMENT HEAD’S APPROVAL: <br />CITY MANAGER’S APPROVAL: <br />No comments to supplement this report ___ Comments attached ___ <br /> <br />15.99 Deadline: None <br />Recommendations: Review the suggested code updates, and provide recommendations on <br />changes as deemed necessary. <br /> Once the language gains support by a majority of the Planning <br />Commission, recommend approval of the Ordinance for consideration <br />by the City Council. <br />Legislative History: Early 2019: City Council directs staff to research and report back on the <br />City’s most common complaints to begin a discussion on code <br />enforcement challenges. <br /> March 26, 2019: Staff presents initial findings to Council, and is directed <br />to conduct additional research and formulate suggestions on ways code <br />could be improved. <br /> June 25, 2019: Staff returns to Council with examples of the City’s most <br />common complaints, and presents options for change to Council for <br />consideration. Council directs staff to prepare the various updates now <br />up for consideration. <br />Financial Impact: None <br />Summary: Council is seeking recommendations on ways to improve our ordinance to <br />address the City’s most common enforcement activities, complaints, and <br />issues.
