Planning Report <br />Site Plan and Special Use Permit Review <br /> <br /> <br />To: Planning Commission <br />From: Ben Gozola, Assistant Director DCAD <br />Meeting Date: 9-17-19 <br />Applicants: City of New Brighton <br />Main Contact: Craig Schlicting, Director of Community Assets & Development <br />Location: 700 5th Street NW <br />Zoning: I-2 <br /> <br /> <br />Introductory Information <br />Project: The City of New Brighton is seeking authorization to move the existing salt shed <br />building at 700 5th Street NW to a new location on the eastern portion of the property. <br />Movement of the salt shed is needed to accommodate the recently approved Midtown <br />Village development and its potential need for additional parking. <br /> <br />History: On 5-28-19, the City approved the Midtown Village development which will <br />require acquisition of a portion of the City’s current PW facility property for <br />needed parking and site improvements. <br /> <br />Request(s): SUP and site plan review for the “storage of salt, sand, or other similar <br />road treatment materials by public road authorities in structures not <br />meeting requirements found in Sec. 6-390(12).” <br /> <br /> <br />General Findings <br />Site Data: Existing Lot Size ≈ 6.17 acres <br /> Existing Use – PW Headquarters <br /> Existing Zoning – I-2 <br /> Property Identification Numbers (PID): 29-30-23-13-0024 <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />
