This final phase will include preparation of the remaining land for development, installation of public improvements, and construction of the affordable senior building to the north of Old Highway 8. Preliminary approval for this development was granted by the City Council on May 28th, 2019. History / Timeline:  Dates Unknown: City acquires the PW materials storage site, the PW facilities site, and 609 Old Highway 8 (all have been City owned for many, many, years)  ≈ 1939: original New Brighton Elementary School constructed  ≈ 1978: School converted into a “community resource center” providing general services to the public and local seniors.  ≈ 1983: School district sells property to the Korean United Methodist Church  ≈ 2017: City acquires 629 Old Highway 8 on the open market at fair market value  2017: City acquires the former New Brighton Elementary School/Korean United Methodist Church site on the open market at fair market value  2019: City acquires 581 Old Highway 8 on the open market at fair market value  Neighborhood Meeting on conceptual plan held on 10/25/18  Conditional rezoning of parcels to R-3B recommended for approval by the Planning Commission on 1/15/19, and approved by the City Council on 1/22/19  Planning Commission review & public hearing of Preliminary PRD held on 5/21/19  City Council approval of Preliminary PRD on 5/28/19  City Council approval of Final PRD Phase I on 7/23/19  City Council approval of Final PRD Phase II on 11/26/19
