<br /> <br /> <br /> <br />MINUTES <br />Public Safety Commission <br />March 9, 2020 City Hall <br />Council Chambers 6:30 p.m. <br /> <br />I. Call to Order <br /> <br />The meeting was called to order at 6:30 p.m. by Chair Hollimon. <br /> <br />II. Roll Call: <br />Members Present: Commissioners Robert Boyd, William Cook, Amina Ghouse, Geoff Hollimon, <br />Stephanie Kitzhaber, Stephanie Malone, Karen Wagner, and Ache Wakai. <br /> <br />Members Absent: Commissioner Tanya Kessler. <br /> <br />Also Present: Director Tony Paetznick, Council Member Paul Jacobsen and Dave Matteson <br />(Allina Health). <br /> <br />III. Approval of Agenda <br /> <br />Motion by Wagner, seconded by Cook to approve the March 9, 2020 agenda as presented. <br />Motion carried 8-0. <br /> <br />IV. Approval of Minutes <br /> <br />Motion by Wagner, seconded by Kitzhaber to approve the February 10, 2020 minutes as <br />presented. Motion carried 8-0. <br /> <br />V. Presentations and Public Hearings <br /> <br />A. Public Health Emergency Management – Tony Paetznick, Public Safety Director <br /> <br />Director Paetznick provided the Commission with a presentation on the City’s Public Health <br />Emergency Management Plan. He described the role of the New Brighton Public Safety <br />Department in a public health emergency. He reported the City would be taking advantage <br />of the new billboard and would be posting a message encouraging residents to Prevent the <br />Spread by washing their hands, staying home when they are sick and to cover their cough. <br />He noted the City’s website would also be updated with the latest information on the <br />Coronavirus. He commented on the information available from the CDC on the virus. The <br />Ramsey County Emergency Operations Plan was also discussed. The activities within the <br />scope of health and medical services was reviewed. He encouraged Commissioners to refer <br />members of the public to contact the Public Safety Department with any comments or <br />questions they may have about the “what if’s”.
