<br /> <br /> <br />Director Paetznick discussed the types of thefts that were occurring at this time and <br />encouraged residents to take in their packages. He noted there was also a rise in the theft of <br />catalytic convertors, especially for the Toyota Prius. He encouraged residents that see <br />something to say something and also to consider having outdoor lights on through the <br />evening hours. <br /> <br />C. City Council Update – Graeme Allen, Councilmember <br /> <br />Councilmember Allen reported the City Council held its last meeting of the year on Tuesday, <br />December 8th. He explained the 2021 budget and tax levy was approved, along with utility <br />rates for the upcoming year. He provided the Commission with an overview on the 2021 <br />budget, the proposed staffing changes and commented on how the proposed tax levy would <br />impact the median value homeowner in New Brighton. He indicated the Council had voted to <br />change the liquor license payment timeline to assist these businesses due to the impacts <br />COVID has had on this industry. It was noted Long Lake would still have water patrol <br />services, but patrols would be conducted by Ramsey County. Further discussion ensued <br />regarding the City Forester position. <br /> <br />Chair Hollimon thanked the Council and City staff for their tremendous efforts on behalf of <br />the community. <br /> <br />Commissioner Ghouse thanked Mayor Johnson, Councilmember Jacobsen and <br />Councilmember Fynewever for their service to the community. <br /> <br />VII. Adjournment <br /> <br />Motion by Kessler, seconded by Ghouse to adjourn the meeting at 8:06 p.m. A roll call vote was <br />taken.
