<br /> <br /> <br />REQUEST FOR CITY COUNCIL CONSIDERATION <br /> <br />ITEM DESCRIPTION: CONSIDERATION OF CHANGE ORDER 1 AND FINAL PAYMENT, PARTIAL <br />PAYMENT 2 FOR CITY PROJECT 19‐5, BRIGHTWOOD HILLS GOLF COURSE IRRIGATION <br />SERVICE <br />DEPARTMENT HEAD’S APPROVAL: Craig Schlichting – Director of Community Assets and <br />Development <br />CITY MANAGER APPROVAL: <br /> <br /> <br />No comments to supplement this report _______ Comments attached ______ <br /> <br />Recommendation: <br />To approve Change Order 1 and Final Payment, Partial Payment 2 for City Project 19‐5, Brightwood <br />Hills Golf Course Irrigation Service to Dave Perkins Contracting, Inc. in the amount of $11,371.50 <br /> <br />Legislative History: <br />August 13, 2019 City Council approved City Project 19‐5, Brightwood Hills Golf Course <br />Irrigation Service and authorized staff to solicit quotes. <br /> <br />September 24, 2019 City Council approved the low quotation and awarded a contract to Dave <br />Perkins Contracting, Inc. for City Project 19‐5, Brightwood Hills Golf Course <br />Irrigation Service. <br /> <br />Financial Impact: <br />The attached Change Order 1 addresses extra costs in the amount of $5,855.00 for actual <br />quantities installed in the field. The original contract amount, which was based on estimated <br />quantities, was $65,984.00. Please see attached payment and Change Order for details. <br /> <br />Explanation: The previous irrigation system at Brightwood Hills Golf Course was supplied by an <br />onsite well which will be decommissioned and used by the Army for testing and by the DNR for <br />water level monitoring. The decommissioning of this well was recommended during a technical <br />review of the recently approved 2016 Municipal Water Supply Plan Update. This project also <br />included the installation of a new fire hydrant and a future fire protection line to the club house <br />which was recommended during the Parks Comprehensive Plan facility tours. <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />AGENDA SECTION: Consent <br />REPORT DATE: May 6, 2020 <br />MEETING DATE: May 12, 2020
