2 <br /> <br />I. INCIDENT RESPONSE INFORMATION <br /> <br />The following information contains summaries of significant police and fire related <br />incidents during the month. <br /> <br />Around 11 pm on February 2, PSO Cameron heard an audible alarm and found water <br />running out of the Mirage at 400 Old Highway 8 NW. Firefighters found a broken pipe <br />for the fire suppression system and shut down the water. The building was turned over to <br />the property owner. <br /> <br />Officers responding to a male sleeping in the entryway of the County Road D apartments <br />on February 3 found an intoxicated male who had been kicked out of his girlfriend’s <br />apartment. His breath alcohol concertation measured .359 and a hold was placed on him <br />for transport to HCMC due to his level of intoxication and inability to care for himself. <br /> <br />Just before the Super Bowl kickoff on February 3 around 5 pm, Public Safety responded <br />to Silver Oaks Court Apartments on Rice Creek Road on a reported grease fire that <br />started in the kitchen of a second floor unit. One occupant was reportedly still inside but <br />safely evacuated. Heavy smoke and flames were visible from the roadway. Firefighters <br />were able to quickly extinguish the flames thanks to the assistance of cross-trained Police <br />Officer/Firefighter Tom Griffin who was on-scene, but occupants from two units were <br />displaced by the fire and water damage. No firefighter or civilian injuries occurred. <br />Fridley Fire also responded on auto-aid to the incident. <br /> <br /> <br />On February 4, dayshift officers responded to numerous medicals involving the icy <br />conditions, with several broken bones suffered by citizens in New Brighton, including a <br />broken ankle, broken arm, cracked ribs, and a cracked face. In addition, they handled <br />several vehicle crashes on local roadways caused by the slick streets. <br /> <br />Officers responded to a reported drunk driver at the On the Run Gas Station at 201 5th <br />Street NW around 2 pm on February 4.
