11 <br /> <br />Det. DeBoer signed a complaint against a 41 year old Blaine woman for a felony level <br />check forgery. This charge carries a maximum sentence of 10 years and/or a $20,000 <br />fine. This complaint stemmed from a care worker at a nursing home cashing a check for <br />her personal use that was intended to be for the care of a vulnerable adult resident. <br /> <br />Det. DeBoer signed a criminal complaint against a 33 year old New Brighton man for a <br />felony level Domestic Assault by Strangulation. The charge carries a maximum sentence <br />of 3 years and/or a $5,000 fine. <br /> <br />Det. DeBoer signed a complaint against a 32 year old Crosby man for Motor Vehicle <br />Theft. The charge carries a maximum sentence of 5 years and/or $10,000 fine. <br /> <br />Det. Lochen signed a complaint against a 33 year old man from Buffalo Center, Iowa <br />For 5th degree Possession of Methamphetamine. The charge carries a maximum sentence <br />of 5 years and/or a $10,000 fine. <br /> <br /> <br />V. COMMUNITY POLICING AND CRIME AND FIRE PREVENTION <br />ACTIVITIES <br /> <br />This section contains information on our community policing, fire and crime prevention <br />activities. <br /> <br />Public Safety participated in the federal Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) annual <br />National Prescription Drug Take Back Day on Saturday, April 27, collecting 49.5 pounds <br />of pharmaceuticals on that date in the Public Safety Center lobby drop box. <br /> <br />On Friday, April 26, New Brighton officers received information from the Saint Anthony <br />Police Department that United States Representative Ilhan Omar was speaking at Saint <br />Anthony Village Middle School in the afternoon, and social media had indicated <br />possible protesters and counter-protesters might be present for the event. Ultimately, no <br />assistance was needed from New Brighton. <br /> <br />Officers Krebsbach and Officer Riedel attended a job fair at Hennepin Technical College <br />on Thursday, April 18, to recruit future police officers for the department. <br /> <br />As part of Public Safety’s ongoing involvement with the Professional Peace Officer <br />Education (PPOE) program at Century College in White Bear Lake, Director Paetznick <br />served as a Police Chief evaluator for a mock interview panel on Tuesday, April 30, <br />involving several law enforcement students who are part of the mentorship partnership <br />between the school and several local police departments. <br /> <br />Officer Wodnick participated in the Community Partners with Youth (CPY) Girls Expo <br />on Tuesday, April 30, for a fun-filled evening of connecting youth girls with career- <br />minded women to prepare them for their future. <br /> <br /> <br />
