12 <br /> <br /> <br />VIII. HOMELAND SECURITY AND EMERGENCY MANAGEMENT <br /> <br />This section will review ongoing activities for homeland security and emergency <br />management. This includes the activities of the New Brighton Community Emergency <br />Response Teams (CERT). <br /> <br />No items to note. <br /> <br /> <br />IX. TRAINING <br /> <br />This section will review the training activities of our Public Safety personnel for the <br />month. <br /> <br />Several members of Public Safety (Deputy Director Hamdorf, Detective Lochen, Office <br />Supervisor Forbord, Office Assistant Krahn) and Veronica Koes from IT attended the <br />annual Zuercher RMS conference in Sioux Falls on September 10-11. They were not <br />affected by the tornado on Tuesday night. <br /> <br />Officer Wodnick attended a 2 day class on advanced pistol skills for female officers. <br /> <br />Deputy Director Hamdorf, and Deputy Fire Chiefs Krebsbach and Schute attended the <br />59th annual conference of the Association of Minnesota Emergency Managers (AMEM) <br />at Breezy Point. <br /> <br />Firefighters participated in their annual physical agility testing on Monday evening, <br />September 30. All members are required to complete the course of activities that <br />simulate actual job skills performed at the scene of a fire/rescue emergency. Allina <br />provides medical monitoring for this yearly event. <br />
