Planning Commission 2020 Year in Review. <br />Planning Commission Chair Erin Nichols-Matkaiti provided the Council with the annual report from the <br />Planning Commission. She thanked Assistant Director of Community Assets and Development Gozola for <br />serving as the staff liaison to the Commission. She explained the Planning Commission acted as an advisory <br />board to the City Council. She described the role of the Planning Commission and listed the members <br />currently serving on the Commission. She reported the Planning Commission meets on the 3'd Tuesday of <br />the month via Zoom. She reviewed the items the Commission addressed in 2020 and discussed the <br />development project highlights along with the legislative highlights. She commented on the issues the <br />Commission would be addressing in 2021. She thanked her fellow Commissioners for transitioning smoothly <br />to Zoom meetings but stated she looked forward to meeting again in person. <br />Councilmember Allen thanked Chair Nichols-Matkaiti for her strong leadership on the Planning <br />Commission. He stated he appreciated the many contributions the Planning Commissioners makes to the <br />City of New Brighton. <br />Councilmember Dunsworth explained she had the privilege of serving as the Council Liaison to the Planning <br />Commission last year. She reported this Commission works so hard, asks great questions and serves the <br />community well. She thanked Chair Nichols-Matkaiti and the entire Planning Commission for their dedicated <br />service to the City. <br />Mayor Niedfeldt-Thomas asked how the public could get involved m the Zoning Code amendment process. <br />Chair Nichols-Matkaiti explained staff would be seeking public input from stakeholders through a steering <br />committee. Assistant Director of Community Assets and Development Gozola stated additional discussions <br />would be held with the Planning Commission as outreach may be needed. <br />Mayor Niedfeldt-Thomas thanked Chair Nichols-Matkaiti for her strong leadership and the entire Planning <br />Commission for keeping New Brighton business friendly. <br />Councilmember Abdulle thanked Chair Nichols-Matkaiti for her dedicated service to the community. He <br />explained he looked forward to serving as the Council Liaison to the Planning Commission for 2021. <br />Consent Agenda <br />1.
