COOPERATIVE AGREEMENT <br />City of New Brighton and Ramsey County <br />Lions Park - Long Lake Regional Park <br />Joint Project <br />THIS ,COOPERATIVE AGREEMENT (this "Agreement") is entered into on 1 '> day <br />of -:bc C ,;--o� �-e`' , 2016, by and between the City of New Brighton (the "City") and Ramsey <br />County (the "County"), all being governmental units of the State of Minnesota, pursuant to the <br />authority contained in Minnesota Statutes Sections 471.59 and 398A.04, subdivision 9. <br />RECITALS <br />WHEREAS, the parties to this Agreement are authorized to enter into agreements to <br />exercise jointly the governmental powers and functions each has individually; and <br />WHEREAS, the City is the owner of Lions Park ("Lions Park"); and <br />WHEREAS, the County is the owner of Long Lake Regional Park ("Long Lake <br />Regional Park"); and <br />WHEREAS, Lions Park and Long Lake Regional Park are adjacent to one another; and <br />WHEREAS, the City and the County desire to complete certain improvements to Lions <br />Park and Long Lake Regional Park and for the parks to share facilities; and <br />WHEREAS, the City is proposing to complete improvements to Lions Park, including, a <br />softball field, lacrosse field and playground, as shown in Figure 1 attached hereto as Exhibit A; <br />and <br />WHEREAS, as part of the City's project to improve Lions Park, the County and the City <br />have agreed to construct shared parking lot, sidewalk, and trail improvements in Long Lake <br />Regional Park, said improvements are shown in Figure 1 attached hereto as Exhibit A; <br />WHEREAS, the City and County has agreed to pay for the shared improvements in <br />Long Lake Regional Park; and <br />WHEREAS, the County will also be constructing a park shelter, restroom and associated <br />amenities in a future phase as shown in Figure 1 attached hereto as Exhibit A; and <br />WHEREAS, the parties also wish to share the amenities and facilities in Lions Park and <br />Long Lake Regional Park; and <br />488663v2 S.IS NE 136-24 <br />
