Activity for the month includes the following: <br />Volunteers in Public Safety and the American Red Cross teamed up again for another <br />blood drive at the Public Safety Center. 17 units of blood were collected. <br />On January 16th Officer McNeely and several members of VIPS traveled to Prior Lake to <br />receive a donated AED from the Mdewakanton Sioux Community. This AED will <br />utilized by VIPS while on park patrols, etc. <br />Officer McNeely attended the monthly VIPS meeting on January 27th and completed <br />refresher instruction on CPR and the use of the newly obtained/donated AED. <br />VIII. HOMELAND SECURITY AND EMERGENCY MANAGEMENT <br />This section will review ongoing activities for homeland security and emergency <br />management. This includes the activities of the New Brighton Community Emergency <br />Response Teams (CERT). <br />No items to report. <br />IX. TRAINING <br />This section will review the training activities of our Public Safety personnel for the <br />month. <br />Officer Craig and Officer Farmer attended training for Subconscious Communications for <br />Detecting Danger. <br />On January 22nd Officer Hamdorf conducted AWAIR/OSHA training for City Staff. He <br />was creative using "Family Feud" to help teach the course! <br />11 <br />
