Firefighter Zehnle's remains passing by the Public Safety Center for the last time <br />Det. Lochen (as Battalion Chief Lochen for the Maplewood Fire Dept) in his work with <br />the Ronald McDonald House/Gillette Children's Hospital served dinner to several <br />families who have seriously ill children at the hospital. Way to go Mike!! <br />Det. Lochen on the right with several Maplewood Fire Staff <br />On February 24th several Life Saving Awards were handed out at the New Brighton City <br />Council meeting. Officer Brian DeDominces, Deputy Luke Mickelson of the RCSO, <br />Paramedic Kimberly Hedger, Paramedic Barb Schley and civilians Grant Dawson, Aaron <br />Briggs and Mike Johnson were all recognized for saving the life of Mr. Matthew Lund. <br />Mr. Lund suffered a sudden cardiac arrest on January 10th at Hazelnut Park in Arden <br />Hills. Officer DeDominces arrived first and utilized an AED from nearby Trinity <br />Lutheran to shock Mr. Lund twice. Mr. Dawson, Mr. Briggs and Mr. Johnson performed <br />CPR and obtained the AED. And, Deputy Mickelson assisted in rescue breathing for Mr. <br />Lund. <br />14 <br />
