IX. TRAINING <br />This section will review the training activities of our Public Safety personnel for the <br />month. <br />Sgt. Nelson and Det. Lochen attended the Emergency Vehicle Operator Course. This <br />training is required every five years. <br />Officer Amberg and Officer Nerison attended training for "Street Survival". <br />Det. DeBoer attended training for "The Impact of Digital Evidence". <br />Officer Farmer attended training for "Statement Analysis" <br />On May 19th and May 21s' the Police Division conducted annual Use of Force Training. The <br />training was conducted by Sgt. Emerson and Officer Kingslien. <br />X. OTHER ADMINISTRATIVE <br />This section will review the ongoing administrative issues and meetings during the <br />month. This includes meetings, policy issues, ordinance changes, and personnel issues. <br />And, this also includes meetings of a county wide, regional, and/or statewide basis on <br />public safety related issues. <br />No items to report. <br />XI. RECOGNITION, NEWS AND INFORMATION <br />This section will include "good news" information about our public safety personnel. <br />This will include formal and informal recognition of the department and/or its personnel <br />on or off duty. <br />Our sincere congratulations and thanks to Capt. Mark Herrick who has announced his <br />retirement as a Firefighter for our Agency effective May 5th, 2015. Capt. Herrick served <br />our Community for more than 25 years with many of those years of service in leadership. <br />Capt. Herrick's Letter of Retirement which addresses the changes in our Agency to <br />include fire equipment and "the one constant" including "quality people like you" is <br />attached. Mark is also retiring from the City of New Brighton this month. He will be <br />recognized at the New Brighton City Council meeting on May 26th at 6:30 pm. Mark, <br />thanks for your quality and length of service to our community, you made a difference. <br />12 <br />
