VI. BIAS CRIME REPORTS <br />This section will contain any information regarding bias and/or hate crimes in the City <br />of New Brighton. <br />There were no bias crime reports this month. <br />VII. VOLUNTEER SERVICES <br />This section contains information on our various volunteer organizations related to <br />Public Safety. This includes the activities of the Public Safety Commission, Police <br />Reserves, Police Explorers, and Volunteers in Public Safety (VIPS). <br />Activity for the month includes the following: <br />The Police Explorers attended the annual Explorer Conference in Duluth. They <br />competed in three events with their team of four Explorers. They placed 5th in Crime <br />Scene and 5th in Street Decisions. Officer McNeely and Officer Slack are Police <br />Explorer Advisors. <br />VIII. HOMELAND SECURITY AND EMERGENCY MANAGEMENT <br />This section will review ongoing activities for homeland security and emergency <br />management. This includes the activities of the New Brighton Community Emergency <br />Response Teams (CERT). <br />No items to report. <br />IX. TRAINING <br />This section will review the training activities of our Public Safety personnel for the <br />month. <br />Congrats to Acting Sgt. Sypniewski who completed the BCA Supervision and <br />Management Series and was among the graduates recognized on Thursday, October 1 st <br />for their accomplishment. <br />Our congrats to Officer Farmer who completed the Drug Recognition Expert program <br />joining Officer B.J. DeBoer as our Drug Recognition Experts! Officer Farmer was <br />recognized for this accomplishment on Thursday, October 1 st. Way to go Officer <br />Farmer!! <br />12 <br />
