Det. Voeller signed a complaint against a 33 -year-old Forest Lake man for Possession of
Methamphetamine. This charge carries a maximum sentence of 5 years and/or a $10,000
fine.
Our VCET officer conducted an undercover (UC) buy/bust operation in St. Paul. The UC
ordered 10 pounds of methamphetamine. Upon the targets arriving and presenting the
narcotics, they took them into custody (ended up being 12.3 pounds). As they were doing
this, one of the suspects fled on foot and was taken into custody within approximately 20
feet. The two suspects were booked into the Ramsey County LEC pending Federal
adoption. Ultimately, they were indicted into Federal Court on 1 st Degree Conspiracy to
Distribute Narcotics.
V. COMMUNITY POLICING AND CRIME AND FIRE PREVENTION
ACTIVITIES
This section contains information on our community policing, fire and crime prevention
activities.
The Public Safety Center was designated as an official drop-off location for the US Drug
Enforcement Administration (DEA) National Prescription Drug Take Back Day. Too
often unused prescription drugs find their way into the wrong hands. This biannual event
is an opportunity to properly dispose of unused medications and help prevent addiction
and overdose. This year, the DEA added vaping devices and cartridges to the list of
acceptable items.
Community Engagement Officer Krebsbach again partnered with the Bru House to host
an event on National Coffee with a Cop day on Wednesday, October 2. Several public
safety staff visited with many residents who made a special visit for the event and other
patrons of the establishment.
10
