B1�IGH�TN <br />NEW BRIGHTON DEPARTMENT OF AZ <br />PUBLIC SAFETY 8RESC' <br />Memorandum <br />To: Public Safety Commissioners <br />From: Tony Paetznick, Director of Public Safety <br />Subject: No Parking Requests <br />Date: February 7, 2020 <br />At your last monthly meeting on January 13th, the Commission requested the following data <br />pertaining to no parking sign requests on 11t Avenue NW (Fountain Terrace) and 601 Campus <br />Drive after hearing the initial concerns submitted by a resident and business, respectively, <br />about ongoing parking concerns on these two city streets. <br />From DCAD (Department of Community Assets and Development): <br />- Road widths, with any Engineering commentary on what this does/not support or how <br />it compares to other similarly situated roadways <br />- Sight line assessments at driveway entrances to apartment (691— 11t Avenue NW) and <br />business (601 Campus Drive) <br />- Parking calculations for Fountain Terrace Apartments (are there adequate spaces and <br />garage units based on the number of units per the zoning code?) <br />- Traffic volumes (if available, understanding that current winter season does not allow <br />for new counts) <br />- History of the west side no parking restriction on 11t Avenue NW (when and why <br />enacted?) <br />From Public Safety: <br />- Crash history <br />- Enforcement statistics <br />- School bus stop locations <br />- Municipal ability to adjust citation fines <br />Attached please find the aforementioned data that will also be reviewed by DCAD and Public <br />Safety staff at the Monday, February 10th meeting for your discussion in the development of <br />any recommendations to be forwarded for consideration by the City Council on these matters. <br />
