distribute water and military Meals Ready to Eat (MRE). They got Donation Management and <br />Volunteer Management up and running over the next few days, as well. <br />The MN IMT was on site for about 9 days and played a significant role in making a difference to <br />the residents. The MN IMT learned new skills and brought back experiences to benefit <br />Minnesota and New Brighton for when a disaster strikes. <br />Department Reports <br />A. Allina Health — Renee Rosenberg <br />Ms. Renee Rosenberg, Allina Health, reported that Mr. Dave Matteson has been temporarily <br />reassigned to River Falls EMS to help them through staffing changes. Next month, Mr. <br />Matteson will attend the commission meeting with one of the new supervisors. <br />Ms. Rosenberg reported that with the hiring of the new supervisors, Allina Health now has 24/7 <br />supervisory coverage in the north metro area. <br />Allina Health has been busy with Super Bowl LII preparation. They will have 3 ambulance <br />strike teams and 15 additional ambulances will be on duty. <br />Deputy Director Hamdorf noted that time off requests will not be allowed for public safety <br />personnel during Super Bowl activities. <br />B. Volunteers in Public Safety (YIPS) <br />No report. <br />C. Public Safety Update — Deputy Director Hamdorf <br />Deputy Director Hamdorf noted that public safety personnel have been busy with Santa Cop <br />activities; identifying local families in need, shopping, wrapping gifts, and then coordinating gift <br />delivery. <br />D. Human Rights <br />No report. <br />Council Liaison <br />A. Council Report — Council Member Paul Jacobsen <br />Council Member Jacobsen noted the following items/updates: <br />❑ The city has closed on the Korean Church property. <br />❑ The grand opening of the Eagles Nest was a success with 1,800 people attending on the <br />first day. <br />❑ There will be two December meetings; the Truth in Taxation meeting and then the last <br />Council meeting of the year tomorrow night. <br />Council Member Jacobsen wished a Happy Holidays to all and thanked the commissioners and <br />Chair Allen for all of their work in 2017. <br />
