July 1, 2015 Parks, Recreation and Environmental Commission Page 2 <br /> <br /> <br />MOTION BY COMMISSIONER FIELDS, SECONDED BY COMMISSIONER JUSTIN <br />TO RECONVENE THE MEETING. MOTION CARRIED. <br /> <br />MOTION BY COMMISSIONER JUSTIN, SECONDED BY COMMISSIONER <br />EISCHEN, TO RECOMMEND TO COUNCIL THAT GAMETIME PLAYGROUND <br />STRUCTURE #1 BE INSTALLED AT TOTEM POLE PARK. MOTION CARRIED. <br /> <br />The public is welcome to help with installation. Installation will take place between <br />8:00am – 4:30pm on a weekday. Commissioners are invited to be a part of the <br />installation. <br /> <br />VII. Trails, Bike and Walk-ways <br />None <br /> <br />VIII. Announcements <br />A. Council Report – Council Member Burg <br /> New firetruck purchase, $600,000. <br /> D.Q. Scholarship Days on the 3rd Tues. gives money to Parks & Rec. <br /> Water situation – clean water – odd/even water only 9pm-6am <br /> Melissa McCarthy – Met Council Rep, spoke to Council <br /> Polling Precincts – new polling places added, went from 4 to 8 <br /> Blood Drive at Public Safety last week (26 people), 9/3 is next drive <br />12:30-6:30pm <br /> National Night Out – Aug 4 (140 parties already set up) <br /> Stockyard Days is the first week in August <br /> <br />B. Chair Updates <br />Chair Kunesh-Podein mentioned this is her first meeting as Chair. <br /> <br />C. Commission Reports on Parks <br />Driftwood: Parker. One of the soccer nets has a tear in it. <br />Freedom: Brunell. No report. <br />Hansen: Fields. Dead tree close to the creek, graffiti on the light poles. The bench by <br />the disc golf course. <br />Hidden Oaks: Frischman. It looks fabulous with the building down. It looks like a <br />different park. Site lines are greatly improved. There is a black tube coming out of the <br />ground. Parks Superintendent Wolla stated the tube is for irrigation. They are trying to <br />let the grass grow in the area where the building was. <br />Innsbruck: Kunesh-Podein. Getting lots of use on the soccer field. People parking on <br />the side. A very busy, well-used park. <br />Meadow Wood: Eischen. Looks great. One resident reported food is being dumped <br />there. <br />Silver Oaks/Totem Pole: Justin. Silver Oaks: Landscape boards, bench at field is kind <br />of twisted, the tennis court nets are low. Totem Pole: Landscaping boards will be <br />changed out for Playground installation. Trees along fence line – he will clip them. <br />Totem Pole is a heavily used park. <br />Sunny Square/Vermont: McEathron. Sunny Square: One sapling, close to the <br />building, was completely broken. Domes on security camera are broken. Parks <br />Superintendent Wolla stated the domes cannot be replaced. We have another security <br />camera system in our work plan. The current cameras are still working. Vermont:
