Council Report – Council Member Burg <br /> Council working on Strategic Plan, or budgeting, have until Dec 9th <br /> Precincts changed from 4 to 8 precincts <br /> Council Member Burg is Liaison for Northeast Youth and Family <br />Services. They offer services for families with mental health issues <br />for both youth and adults. They are a non-profit. They have a fund <br />raiser coming up on Oct. 22nd. <br />B. Chair Updates <br />None <br />C. Commission Reports on Parks <br />Driftwood: Parker. No report. <br />Freedom: Brunell. No report. <br />Hansen: Fields. A lot of weeds growing by bridge area coming up to the <br />neighborhood center. Three path lights out (west of bldg.) and one by the <br />prairie area. <br />Hidden Oaks: Frischman. No report. <br />Innsbruck: Kunesh-Podein. Grass coming in where tracks were from <br />dredging. <br />Meadow Wood: Eischen. No report. <br />Silver Oaks/Totem Pole: Justin. The new playground is being used. <br />Clipped trees by chain link fence. <br />Sunny Square/Vermont: McEathron. Thanks for taking care of telephone <br />wire that was hanging. The broken picnic table has been fixed with new <br />boards. Sunny Square: Kicked in hockey boards. <br />Veterans: Stenglein. It appears construction is done at Veterans area. <br />Looks like prepped for hydro seeding. <br />D. Department Happenings / upcoming events <br />Director Breuer highlighted a few of the Department Happenings. <br /> 275 attendees at the ThrivExpo <br /> Over 1,060 participants attending our programs <br /> Did a horseback riding event targeted toward senior population <br /> Jim Veiman did Buckthorn removal workshop at Hansen Park <br /> Over 428 participants are in youth programs <br /> Highview Middle School Pickleball lines taped on court – had 10 <br />volunteers <br /> Freedom rink still working on <br /> NBCC shut down work completed <br /> Holiday Boutique open through Saturday <br /> MEA coming – we are open for business. Touch-a-truck day on <br />Friday <br /> NBCC monument signs were replaced – this sign has <br />interchangeable panels for easier replacement or removal <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />
