CITY OF NEW BRIGHTON <br />WHEREAS, in 1962, President Kennedy proclaimed May 15 as National Peace Officers Memorial Day and the <br />calendar week in which May 15 falls, as National Police Week; and <br />WHEREAS, there are more than 800,000 sworn law enforcement officers serving in communities across the <br />United States, including the dedicated members of the New Brighton Department of Public Safety; and <br />WHEREAS, New Brighton Police Officers play an essential role in safeguarding the rights and freedoms of our <br />community members and in protecting the lives and property of all in the City of New Brighton; and <br />WHEREAS, it is important that people throughout our city know and understand the roles and responsibilities of <br />its public safety department and partner with it to ensure the common goal of a safe community; and <br />WHEREAS, it is fitting and proper that we express our gratitude for the dedicated service and courageous deeds <br />of our New Brighton Police Officers and for the contribution they have made to the safety and well-being of the <br />City of New Brighton; <br />NOW, THEREFORE I, KARL NIEDFELD T- THOMAS, Mayor of The City of New Brighton, Minnesota do <br />hereby proclaim May 9-15, 2021: <br />Police Week <br />in the City of New Brighton. <br />N IM A I IN WITNESS WHEREOF, I have hereunto set my <br />hand and caused the Seal of the City of New Brighton, Minnesota to be <br />03 BRIGHTON affixed this 27`h day of April, 2 02 1. <br />building tomorrow today <br />KA RI NIEDFELD T- THOMA S — MAYOR <br />
