Councilmember Dunsworth asked what the City's biggest challenges were. <br /> Ms. Veillette stated political division was the City's biggest challenge, between its people. She explained she <br /> saw this both in the City and in the nation. Also, she saw frustration with decisions that are being made and <br /> not all people were in agreement. <br /> Mayor Johnson asked if she was interested in land uses and variances; economic programs, retention and <br /> development; the impact of recreation on the community; or the impacts of public safety. <br /> Ms. Veillette indicated she was most interested in recreation in the community. Her second interest would be <br /> public safety. <br /> Mayor Johnson discussed the process the Council would be following for the committee member <br /> appointments. She thanked Ms. Veillette for her interest in serving and asked if she had any questions. <br /> Ms. Veillette asked where the Commission members gathered their information. <br /> Councilmember Burg reported this information will come from staff prior to each meeting.
