Oath of Office for Police Officer Austin Sonterre. Business <br /> I.Oath of Office for <br /> Public Safety Director Paetznick introduced newlyhired Police Officer AustinCouncil. Police Officer Austin <br /> Sonterre to the City Sonterre. <br /> City Clerk Spangrud administered the Oath of Office to Police Officer Austin Sontene. A round of applause <br /> was offered by all in attendance. <br /> Councilmember Jacobsen welcomed Officer Sonterre to the New Brighton Public Safety Department. He <br /> encouraged him to uphold the high standards that are held by all officers within the department. <br /> Councilmember Burg welcomed Officer Sontene and appreciated the fact he was willing to serve this <br /> community. <br /> Mayor Johnson welcomed Officer Sonterre to the department and encouraged him to be safe. <br /> Councilmember Allen thanked Officer Sonterre for moving from lawncare service to public service. He <br /> reported Officer Sonterre was joining a phenomenal organization. <br /> Councilmember Dunsworth congratulated Officer Sontene on his new position with the City of New <br /> Brighton. <br /> 2. Life Saving Awairi. 2.Life Saving Award. <br /> Public Safety Director Paetznick reported on January 23,2019 around 9:38 pm,31-year-old Noor Siddiqui <br /> collapsed at LA Fitness. Officers Cody Amberg and Taylor Wodnick,along with Public Safety Officers <br /> (PSOs)John Thomas and Claudia Valdez responded to the 911 call. Allina Health Emergency Medical <br /> Services(EMS)Dispatcher Meagan Cheney provided pre-arrival instructions and Ms.Siddiqui's brother-in- <br /> law Mir Ali performed CPR. Responding officers found that the victim was not breathing and did not have a <br /> pulse. They continued lifesaving efforts and administered two shocks with an Automated External <br /> Defibrillator(AED),at which time Ms.Siddiqui regained a pulse. Allina Paramedic Charles Babbini and <br /> EMT Mark Beckenbach arrived to further provide patient care,with PSOs Thomas and Valdez riding in the <br /> ambulance to assist them. Ms.Siddiqui was transported to Hennepin County Medical Center and was <br /> breathing on her own upon arrival. She recovered and was able to retum home. He thanked all of the <br /> officers and first responders who assisted on this life-saving event. A round of applause was offered by all in <br /> attendance. <br /> Dr.Lick,Allina Health,congratulated the New Brighton Public Safety Department for their tremendous <br /> efforts. <br /> Mayor Johnson stated she was pleased Noor Siddiqui was alive and well,and able to attend this meeting. She <br /> thanked the EMT's and first responders for their life-saving efforts. <br /> Noor Siddiqui thanked all ofthe police officers and first responders from the bottom of her heart who assisted <br /> in saving her life. She stated she was so thankful to be able to still hug her kids and husband. <br /> Councilmember Jacobsen thanked the New Brighton Public Safety Department and EMT's for assisting in <br /> saving another life. <br /> Mayor Johnson thanked the Lion's for providing the local Boy Scouts with an AED. <br /> 3. Local Government Innovation Award. 3.Local Government <br /> Innovation Award. <br /> Public Safety Director Paetznick stated the Humphrey School of Public Affairs at the University of <br /> Minnesota named the Ramsey County Fire Chiefs Association(RCFCA)as the recipients of its 2018 <br /> Leading Innovator in the City Category of the 12th Annual Local Government Innovation Awards(LGIA) <br />
