RESOLUTION No.2 01 9—1 1 4 <br /> STATE OF MINNESOTA <br /> COUNTY OF RAMSEY <br /> CITY OF NEW BRIGHTON <br /> RESOLUTION ACCEPTING AN$18,300 WATER EFFICIENCY GRANT FROM THE METROPOLITAN COUNCIL <br /> WHEREAS, the Metropolitan Council announced they will implement a water efficiency <br /> grant program effective September 30, 2019 to June 30, 2022; and <br /> WHEREAS, eligible water demand reduction projects include toilet and clothes washing <br /> machine replacement and irrigation system audits; and <br /> WHEREAS, on September 10, 2019 the New Brighton City Council authorized staff to make <br /> application for this Metropolitan Council Water Efficiency Grant for a project consisting of toilet <br /> replacement; and <br /> WHEREAS, the proposed project consists generally of replacing approximately 250 toilets <br /> in multi-family apartments whose water usage is in the top five of all water users in the <br /> community; and <br /> WHEREAS, the Metropolitan Council awarded New Brighton a grant amount of$18,300; <br /> and <br /> WHEREAS,the City of New Brighton will be required to contribute 25%, or$6,100 towards <br /> the project,for a total project cost of$24,400; and <br /> WHEREAS,the City Council further authorizes the Mayor to execute the Metropolitan <br /> Council Clean Water Fund Grant Agreement No. SG-13462. <br /> Now THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of New Brighton hereby <br /> accept an $18,300 Water Efficiency Grant from the Metropolitan Council. <br /> ADOPTED this 10th day of December by the New Brighton City tb ncil with a vote of 5 ayes and <br /> '0 nays. <br /> 7 ,--/4"/ <br /> Valerie Johnson, Mayor <br /> ATTEST: D vi assopus , In rim City Manager <br /> rri Spangrud, City lerk <br />
