Previous requests have been unsuccessful and when <br /> possible the City works with planned construction projects and/or the railroad to implement <br /> quiet zone friendly elements. Staff met with RR and MnDOT officials earlier this year to discuss <br /> the installation of flashing light signals, gates, and warning equipment. During this discussion the <br /> City indicated its desire to include quiet zone ready equipment. The entire project cost is <br /> anticipated to be $259,000, and to include the desired equipment the City will pay for the local <br /> share of the project. After installation the RR will responsible for maintaining and operating this <br /> equipment. <br /> 4 . ,. <br /> Craig G.
