September 14,2021 Page 8 of 9 <br /> 4 Ayes,1 Nay(Councilmember Axberg opposed)-Motion Carried <br /> Commission Liaison Reports,Announcements and Updates Commission Liaison <br /> Reports, <br /> Announcements and <br /> Devin Massopust Updates <br /> City Manager Massopust reported the New Brighton Public Safety Department was notified <br /> yesterday that a Level 3 sex offender was moving into the community. He explained a public <br /> meeting would be held on Thursday, September 16 via Zoom at 6:30 p.m. Information <br /> regarding this meeting could be found on the City's website. <br /> Graeme Allen <br /> Councilmember Allen reported the Public Safety Commission met on Monday, September 13 <br /> where the group discussed the body worn camera audit, traffic stop data and Ramsey County <br /> Choi's recommendations with respect to traffic stops. He noted the Public Safety Commission <br /> recommended the City pursue a driving diversion program, the Lights On! program, along with <br /> the six week driver's education program for residents where English is not their first language. <br /> He commented further on the catalytic convertor event that was hosted by the City and noted <br /> another event was being planned for October. <br /> Emily Dunsworth <br /> Councilmember Dunsworth reported PREC met on Wednesday, September 1 where the group <br /> discussed the Midtown Village park name, the recent census results and the equity statement. <br /> Pam Axberg <br /> Councilmember Axberg reported the EDC did not have a quorum this month and therefore did <br /> not meet. She noted the EDC would meet next on Wednesday, October 6. <br /> Abdullahi Abdulle <br /> Councilmember Abdulle reported the Planning Commission would meet next on Tuesday, <br /> September 21. <br /> Mayor Niedfeldt-Thomas <br /> Mayor Niedfeldt-Thomas thanked the Long Lake Improvement Association for holding their <br /> annual cleanup day. She reported construction was now complete at all of the Mounds View <br /> schools and an open house would be held at each school on Thursday, September 23 from 5:00 <br /> p.m. to 8:00 p.m. She stated the fall cleanup day would be held on Saturday, September 18 at <br /> the Public Works Facility. She discussed the upcoming Red Cross blood drive and noted she <br /> would be giving blood on Monday, September 20. She noted TUV SUD would be holding a <br /> grand opening on Wednesday, September 22. She welcomed Yard Homes to the City of New <br /> Brighton and discussed the accessory dwelling units they produce. She explained the Harvest <br /> Dinner that was planned for Sunday, October 10 has been canceled due to the pandemic. She <br /> commented a Public Safety Open House would be held on Monday, October 25 from 6:00 p.m. <br /> to 8:00 p.m. <br /> City Manager Massopust reported the City has promoted Gina Foschi from Assistant Finance <br /> Director to Finance Director. <br />
