Paetznick, Director of Public Safety 4.14" <br /> CITY MANAGER'S APPROVAL: 1 <br /> No comments to supplement this report Comments attached <br /> Recommendation: Accept the Independent Audit of New Brighton's Portable Recording System <br /> (Police Body Worn Cameras (BWCs)) conducted on May 25, 2021. <br /> Legislative History: Minnesota law requires an independent biennial body worn camera audit to <br /> ensure compliance with applicable laws (Minn. Stat. 13.825, subd. 9a). The law <br /> also requires the results of the audit must be provided to the City Council and to <br /> the Legislative Commission on Data Practices and Personal Data Privacy (Minn. <br /> Stat. 13.825, subd. 9c). <br /> Financial Impact: The cost of the audit completed by Lynn Lembcke Consulting was $1,250.00. <br /> Explanation: The Public Safety Commission reviewed the audit at its meeting on Monday, <br /> September 13, 2021. This audit included the following data elements: <br /> Minnesota Statute §13.825: Data Classification, Retention of Data, Access by <br /> Data Subjects, Inventory of Portable Recording System Technology, Use of <br /> Agency-Issued Portable Recording Systems, and Authorization to Access Data <br /> Sharing Among Agencies; and Minnesota Statute §626.8473: Public Comment <br /> and Portable Recording System Policy. In all sections, the auditor stated, "No <br /> discrepancies noted." From the time of receipt of the final audit on August 17th, <br /> Public Safety has 60 days to provide the document to the City Council and the <br /> State's Legislative Commission on Data Practices and Personal Data Privacy. <br /> cg <br /> Anthony S.
