March 23,2021 Page 4 of 10 <br /> The Public Hearing was opened at 7:12 p.m. <br /> City Manager Massopust indicated Assistant Director of Community Assets and Development Gozola would <br /> be presenting this item to the Council. <br /> Assistant Director of Community Assets and Development Gozola stated Do &Bryan Nguyen are <br /> seeking approval to remove the existing home at 2530 Silver Lake Road in order to split the <br /> land into two conforming buildable parcels. Staff discussed how driveways could access Lot A <br /> and Lot B. Provided all improvements are removed leaving no nonconformities to the new lot <br /> line, this is a permissible lot split subject to conditions. Staff commented further regarding the <br /> request and explained the Planning Commission recommended approval with conditions. <br /> Mayor Niedfeldt-Thomas asked for additional comments, there were none. <br /> Motion by Councilmember Axberg, seconded by Councilmember Allen to close the <br /> Public Hearing. <br /> A roll call vote was taken. <br /> 5 Ayes,0 Nays-Motion Carried <br /> The Public Hearing was closed at 7:19 p.m. <br /> Motion by Councilmember Axberg,seconded by Councilmember Abdulle to adopt a Resolution <br /> approving the proposed subdivision based on the findings of fact and proposed conditions. <br /> A roll call vote was taken. <br /> 5 Ayes,0 Nays-Motion Carried <br /> 2.Consider Ordinance <br /> 2. Consider Ordinance 880: Short Term Rentals. 880: Short Term <br /> Rentals. <br /> Motion by Councilmember Allen, seconded by Councilmember Dunsworth to open the <br /> Public Hearing. <br /> A roll call vote was taken. <br /> 5 Ayes,0 Nays-Motion Carried <br /> The Public Hearing was opened at 7:21 p.m. <br /> City Manager Massopust indicated Assistant Director of Community Assets and Development Gozola would <br /> be presenting this item to the Council. <br /> Assistant Director of Community Assets and Development Gozola stated Short term rentals are <br /> currently defined as any dwelling being rented for a period of 14 days or less. Anyone who <br /> wants to conduct a short term rental must acquire a permit each year. Exceptions: renting of <br /> individual rooms, and if the owner lives at the property and will be present during the rental <br /> period. Permits expire on Dec 31st of each year. Permits obtained between Nov 1st and Dec <br /> 31st run through Dec 31st of the following calendar year. All short term rentals must have a <br /> resident agent who can/will respond to problems. Documentation of occupants is required and <br /> the list must be made available to the city upon request. Specific information must be posted in <br /> the rental for occupant's reference (contact info for the agent, property address, diagram of <br /> emergency exits).
