He commented the members that serve take it personally when serving this <br /> community and this helps build culture. In addition, he noted the amount invested in education and training <br /> helped keep members excited and engaged. He reported the departments model naturally requires people to <br /> live and work in the area. He indicated the volunteers also appreciate the investment the City has made in its <br /> equipment and fire apparatus. <br /> Councilmember Abdulle stated he fully supported the City making a municipal contribution in 2021. He <br /> commented this was the right thing to do to show the City's appreciation for their service to the community. <br /> Councilmember Allen explained one of the great things in New Brighton in terms of its finances was how the <br /> fire relief fund has grown over the past four years.
