The traffic study was <br /> reviewed with the Council in detail. Staff commented further on the request and reported the <br /> Planning Commission recommended approval based on the findings of fact and staff <br /> recommended conditions. <br /> Councilmember Allen commented traffic was the biggest concern with this project. He <br /> explained there was a lack of sidewalks in this area of New Brighton. He indicated he would <br /> like to learn more about the sidewalk plan for this project. Community Assets and <br /> Development Director Schlichting discussed the sidewalk plan with the Council, noting what a <br /> sidewalk would look like along Robin Lane. <br /> Councilmember Allen stated he appreciated the fact a new sidewalk was being considered <br /> within this development as this would assist in improving safety for the adjacent neighborhood. <br /> He explained he supported the proposed sidewalk. <br /> Mayor Niedfeldt-Thomas questioned how the sidewalk would impact parking along Robin <br /> Lane. Community Assets and Development Director Schlichting reported adding the sidewalk <br /> would limit parking on the street to one side of the street. He explained that making the street <br /> narrower would assist in calming or slowing traffic. <br />
