Consider Resolution Adopting the Final 2022 Tax Levy. <br /> <br />Public Safety Director Paetznick indicated Finance Director Foschi would be presenting this item to the <br />Council. <br />Finance Director Foschi stated the 2022 General Fund Budget receives 59% of its total revenues <br />from property taxes. The proposed 2022 tax levy of $11,475,600 represents an increase of <br />$873,200 or 8.24% from the levy payable in 2021. The increases in the 2022 levy were <br />discussed. Staff reviewed the levy timeline, commented on the 2022 property tax levy in <br />further detail with the Council and recommended approval. It was noted New Brighton has one <br />of the lowest per capita revenue collection rates with comparable cities. <br />Mayor Niedfeldt-Thomas thanked staff for their tremendous work on the tax levy and budget. <br /> <br />Motion by Councilmember Abdulle, seconded by Councilmember Allen to adopt a Resolution <br />Adopting the Final 2022 Property Tax Levy of $11,475,600. <br /> <br />4 Ayes, 1 Nay (Councilmember Dunsworth opposed)-Motion Carried <br /> <br />2. Consider Resolution Adopting the Final 2022 Budgets and 2022-2031 CIP. <br /> <br />Public Safety Director Paetznick indicated Finance Director Foschi would be presenting this item to the <br />Council. <br />Finance Director Foschi stated the City’s General Operating Fund Budget for 2022 is $19,526,800, <br />which represents an additional investment of $1,074,900 from the adopted 2021 budget. The <br />enterprise funds include Water, Sewer, Stormwater, and Street Lighting. The internal service <br />funds include Risk Management, Information Technology, Fleet Replacement, Non‐Fleet <br />Replacement, and Pavement Management. The total for the City’s enterprise and internal <br />service funds’ 2022 budgets is $13,307,200. The total for the 2022‐2031 CIP is <br />$112,861,700. The significant changes to the General Operating Fund budget from 2021 to <br />2022 were reviewed with the Council and staff recommended approval of the final 2022 <br />Services. <br /> <br />16.
