Mayor Niedfeldt-Thomas Mayor Niedfeldt-Thomas reported the Equity Commission met last Thursday and received a presentation from Lisa Tabor from CultureBrokers and discussed Juneteenth becoming a holiday celebrated by the City of New Brighton. She explained the Council was preparing a State of the City video with Nine North. She indicated a community survey was being prepared and encouraged residents to participate if they receive a survey. She then discussed the information the League of Women Voters have on the metro area County governments. She stated Ramsey County Attorney John Choi would be attending an upcoming worksession meeting with the City Council to discuss the uptick in crime. She commented on the State’s redistricting noting New Brighton would now be represented by two different Senate districts and two separate Representatives. She reported she spoke at a virtual class today at Irondale High School where she discussed her career path.
