March 8, 2022 Page 6 of 6 <br />Pam Axberg <br />Councilmember Axberg reported she attended the Economic Development Commission <br />meeting last Wednesday where the group discussed business outreach and the benefits of local <br />partnerships. She indicated the group also reviewed the items that were completed in 2021 and <br />commented on its goals for 2022. She noted the group nominated Harry Charter as Chair and <br />Jacqui Sauter as Vice Chair. She indicated now was the time for residents to get out and <br />purchase Girl Scout Cookies and noted this could be done at Cub Foods. <br /> <br />Abdullahi Abdulle <br />Councilmember Abdulle reported the Planning Commission would be meeting on Tuesday, <br />March 15 at 6:30 p.m. He noted he would be attending the Ramsey County League of Local <br />Government meeting on Friday, March 11. <br /> <br />Mayor Niedfeldt-Thomas <br />Mayor Niedfeldt-Thomas thanked staff and the Council for all of their efforts at the recent <br />strategic planning session. She appreciated all of the conversation and ideas that came out of <br />this session. She reported the community was now at the two year anniversary of the COVID <br />pandemic and she sent a huge thank you to City staff for all of their leadership during this time. <br />She understood the pandemic has been a huge strain on the community and encouraged the <br />public to focus on what the new normal would look like going forward. She discussed a <br />conversation she had with County Chair Trista MatasCastillo.
