<br /> <br />REQUEST FOR COUNCIL CONSIDERATION <br /> <br />ITEM DESCRIPTION: Review 2022-2023 Strategic Priorities <br />DEPARTMENT HEAD’S APPROVAL: <br />CITY MANAGER’S APPROVAL: <br />No comments to supplement this report ___ Comments attached ___ <br /> <br />Recommendation: Review identified strategic priories and correlating programs/initiatives for 2022 <br />and 2023 <br /> <br />Financial Impact: <br />There are financial impacts to some of these priorities. All programs and initiatives that will be <br />complete in 2022 are currently budget neutral. Based on the outcomes of these there may be future <br />financial impacts that will need to be considered through the annual budget process. <br /> <br />Explanation: <br /> <br />On March 5, 2022 City of Brighton staff and elected officials and a consultant met to identify strategic <br />priorities for 2022 and 2023. <br /> <br />For the sake of discussion and understanding the below definitions are provided: <br /> <br />Strategic Priorities – overarching, goal areas that need to be a focus for Council and staff in our day- <br />to-day work, as well as our longer timeframe initiatives. Tradeoffs regarding resource allocation (staff <br />time, money, materials, etc.) should be based on achieving and maintaining the priorities. <br /> <br />Programs/Initiatives – These are the finite and tactical activities that will be pursued and achieved in <br />order to accomplish the strategic priorities. <br /> <br />The strategic priorities identified by the work group are: <br /> <br /> Infrastructure <br /> Operational Effectiveness <br /> Environment and Sustainability <br /> DEI <br /> Livable Community <br /> <br />Agenda Section: Work Session <br />Report Date: 3/31/22 <br />Council Meeting Date: 4/5/22
