VI. Report from Council Liaison Mayor Niedfeldt-Thomas provided the Commission an update from the City Council. She stated the State of the City video would be released soon. She explained the upcoming newsletter would have metrics from the City. She commented on a conversation she was having with others in the region looking at north metro schools and the suburbanization of poverty. She reported Ramsey County Attorney John Choi recently attended a Council worksession meeting. She discussed the conversation she had with the new Ramsey County Commission Chair. It was noted the City’s new precincts and polling locations would be approved at the next Council meeting. She indicated the Council has been discussing its rental inspection process. She discussed the conversations that were held with Sourcewell, which would be serving as the contractor for the park improvements. Lastly, she noted the Council held a strategic planning session with department heads in order to plan for the coming year. The Commission suggested the City consider having the State of the City and all City meetings have subtitles. City Manager Massopust reported he would look into this with Nine North. The Commission asked if staff had made a determination regarding Juneteenth. City Manager Massopust reported staff and the Council were still discussing this matter. VII.
