Paetznick, Director of Public Safety <br />CITY MANAGER’S APPROVAL: <br />No comments to supplement this report ___ Comments attached ___ <br /> <br />Recommendation: Accept the $1,000 donation from the New Brighton Eagles Club. <br /> <br />Legislative History: n/a <br /> <br />Financial Impact: $1,000.00 revenue for the City of New Brighton’s Public Safety Department. <br /> <br />Explanation: In 2009 New Brighton became the first city in the State of Minnesota to receive <br />the Heart Safe Community designation for the efforts of Public Safety to <br />prepare its staff and citizens to recognize when someone suffers a sudden <br />cardiac arrest and how to respond. That ongoing initiative includes community <br />CPR (cardiopulmonary resuscitation) and public access to AEDs (automated <br />external defibrillators). The New Brighton Eagles Club has graciously donated <br />$1,000 to specifically support CPR instruction equipment and supplies. Public <br />Safety is grateful for their financial support of this program and the <br />department’s community education efforts. <br /> <br /> ________________________ <br />Anthony S.
