Page 1 of 7 <br />ORDINANCE NO. 892 1 <br />STATE OF MINNESOTA 2 <br />COUNTY OF RAMSEY 3 <br />CITY OF NEW BRIGHTON 4 <br />AN ORDINANCE AMENDING CHAPTER 13 OF THE NEW BRIGHTON CITY CODE 5 <br />TO UPDATE RENTAL LICENSING REQUIREMENTS FOR RESIDENTIAL 6 <br />HOUSING UNITS THROUGHOUT THE CITY 7 <br />THE CITY OF NEW BRIGHTON ORDAINS: 8 <br />SECTION 1. Chapter 13 of the Code of Ordinances of the City of New Brighton, Minnesota, is hereby 9 <br />amended as follows: 10 <br />Article 1, Sections 13-1 through 13-2 are restated and incorporated herein unchanged. 11 <br />Sec. 13-3. Definitions. 12 <br />Terms not defined in this Section shall be as defined in the Building Code or Zoning Code. Further, terms not 13 <br />defined in this Section nor in the Building Code or Zoning Code shall have the ordinary and accepted meanings as 14 <br />the context shall require. 15 <br />The definitions in this Section shall apply when these words and phrases are used in this Chapter. 16 <br />(1) Approved. As applied to a material, device, or method of construction as approved by the Enforcement 17 <br />Officer under the provisions of this Chapter or approved by another authority designated by law to give approval 18 <br />in the matter in question. 19 <br />(2) Basement. The portion of a building between floor and ceiling which is partly below and partly above grade 20 <br />but so located that the vertical distance from grade to floor below is less than the vertical distance from grade to 21 <br />ceiling. 22 <br />(3) Building Code. The Building Code of the City including any future amendments, the Electrical Code, 23 <br />Plumbing Code, Heating Code, Fire Code, and Zoning Code. 24 <br />(4) Cellar. The portion of a building between floor and ceiling which is wholly or partly below grade and so 25 <br />located that the vertical distance from grade to floor below is equal to or greater than the vertical distance from 26 <br />grade to ceiling. 27 <br />(5) City Manager. The City of New Brighton City Manager or his or her designee. 28
