She noted the City had one opening for a non-student Commissioner role with
the Public Safety Commission and had two people interested in filling this position. She indicated she was told
there would be an opening on the Equity Commission as well, but noted this position would be filled in the
future. She requested feedback from the Council on how to proceed with the Public Safety appointment.

Councilmember Dunsworth stated given the attendance records, there may be several commissioners not
invited back to the Public Safety Commission. For this reason, she suggested the open seat be offered to the
person who can attend the meetings, and in the future a vacancy could be offered to the other individual.

Councilmember Axberg supported this recommendation.

Mayor Niedfeldt-Thomas asked if the Council could appoint one now and hang onto the other candidate for the
future. Massopust recommended the Council appoint one individual to the Public Safety Commission at this
time.

Councilmember Dunsworth noted the Council would be making appointments to Commissions or Committees
again in six months.
