Housing Inventory –Key Findings <br />Housing Types <br />•New Brighton has an extremely broad mix of housing <br />types, including a great variety of multifamily housing <br />typologies—apartments, apartment style <br />condominiums, townhomes, twin homes, single family <br />homes, and two manufactured home communities. <br />Neighborhood Development <br />•Most of the single family neighborhoods were built <br />between 1950 and 1975. Those neighborhoods are <br />most likely to have homes with deferred maintenance <br />•Some neighborhoods on the east side of New Brighton <br />were built between 1975 and 2000. <br />Apartment Development <br />•New Brighton has numerous legacy apartment <br />buildings, with almost 2/3 of apartment units being <br />constructed between 1958 and 1972. <br />•New apartment development has been modest. <br />•Two of the recent developments were affordable, two <br />were market rate or largely market rate <br />Senior Apartments <br />•New Brighton has six senior housing communities, two <br />of which are rent restricted affordable developments. <br />•Most are independent living. One is assisted living. <br />Affordable Apartments <br />•New Brighton has four existing affordable housing <br />developments, with some additional affordable housing <br />units being delivered with the North Shore project. <br />•New Brighton has lots of naturally occurring affordable <br />apartments
