MINUTES Public Safety Commission October 10, 2022 City Hall Council Chambers 6:30 p.m. I. Call to Order The hybrid meeting was called to order at 6:30 p.m. by Chair Hollimon. II. Roll Call: Members Present: Commissioners Aisha Ali (attending remotely), Robert Boyd, Geoff Hollimon, Leah Kuipers, Adam Stout (attending remotely), Roberto Valdizan, Karen Wagner, and Jack Winkels (attending remotely). Also in attendance was Student Commissioner Samuel Strong. Members Absent: None. Also Present: Director Tony Paetznick, Sergeant Matt Farmer, Council Member Graeme Allen and Dave Matteson (Allina Health). III. Approval of Agenda Motion by Wagner, seconded by Kuipers to approve the October 10, 2022 agenda as presented. A roll call vote was taken. Motion carried 8-0. IV. Approval of Minutes Motion by Wagner, seconded by Boyd to approve the September 12, 2022 minutes as presented. A roll call vote was taken. Motion carried 8-0. V. Presentations and Business Items A. UAV/Drone Public Comment Results – Matt Farmer, Community Outreach, Education & Intervention Sergeant Sergeant Farmer discussed the public comment the Public Safety Department received this summer regarding the Unmanned Aerial Vehicle/Drone program. He commented on the website that was created for the proposed program and noted individuals could fill out a department survey, email, in-person or mail in comments. He explained the City would also be holding a public comment period at an upcoming City Council meeting. It was noted the department also reached out to the public on National Night Out and at the farmers market. The results from the survey were reviewed in detail with the Commission. He reported maintaining public trust and privacy were concerns of the public. The solutions for this
