Cliff notes regarding
the park are as follows:
 Hansen Park is the City’s largest park, is centrally located in the community, and is
one of the City’s two “community parks” (i.e. parks intended to serve community-
based recreational and social needs).
 Residential uses surround the park on all sides.
 Water flows through a drainage way from south to north carrying storm water to a
large pond in the northern section of the park.
 The park is presently served by a looping network of paved trails, and is home to
the City’s only disc golf course.
 In general, the park lies on hydric soils which require soil corrections for
improvements.
 Within the subject area, the ballfield lands are uneven, the fencing for each field is
aging, neither are properly oriented for ideal play, and the fields lack accessible
trail connections.
